My best friend’s new college! Why not with this design? Talk about using vertical space
A guy from my high school started this website and I thought it was very interesting. He used design as a tool to connect people with disabilities. I think that this website can relate to various topics in class and it really shows that anyone can make a difference

This picture with the attached article reminded me of the video we watched in lecture the other day about being inspired by nature to re-create our designs. For example, using the design of the whale’s fins on airplanes making them more efficient. This chair looks like a centipede to me which reminded me of the classic design in nature that could make an efficient product like a chair. I do think that we can learn a lot about design through the natural designs that are in place and would be interested in learning more about these approaches.
exploring creativity? this song is pieced together to make a whole product… relates to whole systems thinking and understanding that small pieces can build together to make a complete product
My friend just sent me this picture telling me she wanted this for her birthday… reminding me of cool ways to market watches as in our swatch project :)

This Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Hospital hired a man to come in and re-design the rooms for their patients to have an optimal experience to grow and mature. This website shows a ton of the really cool designs that the hospital has. It relates to the topic of health care and design we were talking about last week :)

This website had some pretty cool ideas about designs for disabled people. I really enjoyed today’s lecture and feel inspired to think about the experiences of people who have a more difficult time with tasks we think are simple.
This is an awesome after school program that I visited while on a service trip to Honduras a few years ago. It is looked in a village up in the mountains where there is barely any electricity and has like 2 market stands and surrounded by rainforest. A man brought over a ton of digital cameras for the kids at the school and encouraged them to capture the beauty of their environment in hope to encourage the children to stay in their rural community yet connect to the outside world through photography. He then set some of the kids up with national geographic and sells there pictures (which are amazing!) to various people and the kids get the money from the pictures that sell. He is trying to teach the kids a lesson about nature, art, and economics all in one. I thought it was cool because these small kids see their world in completely different eyes then us and are inspired by the creativity of the designs in their environment.

A new art creation that can be used as a desk or work space in any sort of environment: in the office, in hotels, in coffee shops, etc. This portal desk can fold up and be rolled away into a nice artistic location
